Funding and support


Several organisations have made commitments to offer financial support to help visitors who may not have sufficient local funds to attend the Congress.

We will develop these pages as a clearing-house for information about the different funding opportunities as they are announced. Please follow the “full details” links below for instructions on how to apply.

Please note that the local Congress organisers cannot advise on any of these funding possibilities. Please address any queries directly to the contact addresses given in the funding call details.

Scheme 1. BSHS, non-UK participants

Funded by: British Society for the History of Science (BSHS)

Administered by: BSHS

Eligibility: anyone based outside the UK who has had a paper accepted, all levels, any discipline

Value: £250

Scheme 2. BSHS, student members

Scheme 3. Wellcome Trust, non-UK students

Funded by: The Wellcome Trust

Administered by: BSHS

Eligibility: any student based at institutions outside the UK with an accepted paper in medical history and/or the history of the biomedical and biological sciences

Value: up to £750

Application deadline: Thursday 28 February

Funded by: The Wellcome Trust

Administered by: BSHS

Eligibility: any student based at an institution in the UK with an accepted paper in medical history and/or the history of the biomedical and biological sciences
