Message 05: 1 March 2013
Dear colleagues
We are pleased to announce that the first provisional timetable / schedule of the pre-arranged symposia for the Congress is now available at:
http://www.ichstm2013.com/programme/timetable.pdf
This document shows the day on which each session of each pre-arranged symposium is intended to take place. For details of the symposia which the code numbers refer to, please refer to the main programme outline at <http://www.ichstm2013.com/programme/guide/>. We will replace the PDF with a more user-friendly version soon, but wanted to make sure the basic information was available as soon as possible, for the benefit of symposium participants who need to make early travel arrangements.
Symposium organisers: this message to the Congress mailing list should already be reaching all of your participants, but we would appreciate it if you could circulate the details directly to make absolutely sure that everybody has them.
More information about travel to Manchester will begin to appear on our website from the beginning of next week.
Extended visits: we hope that some attendees will use the opportunity of the Congress to plan a longer visit to the UK, and in particular to the Manchester region. Anyone planning to arrive beforehand may be interested to know that the Manchester International Festival, a high-profile biennial arts and culture festival, runs from 4 to 21 July, closing just as the Congress opens. Full details of all events are available at <http://www.mif.co.uk/>. Tickets for the most popular events sell out very quickly, so pre-booking is essential. Also, don’t forget our guides to other attractions in the region at <http://www.ichstm2013.com/explore/>.
Non-symposium content: the stand-alone papers have now been grouped into sessions, and the process of timetabling them is underway. We currently anticipate that this will be done early next week, and we will publish schedule information as soon as it is available for all participants.
Best regards
Jeff Hughes and James Sumner
